Q & A with Dr. Dalley
A typical cough or cold or illness that you would not go to an ER or see a specialist for. These illnesses can often be treated quickly in person or with an e-visit and are expected to resolve with or without specific treatment in a matter of days.
This is any visit with the doctor that is not done in person, but by voice, e-mail or tele-medicine via a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Since most patients are well-known to the physician and the medical record is always readily available to him, e-visits are an effective, efficient and safe way to accomplish a doctor visit. If an examination or more complex discussion or interaction is required, then a timely in-person office visit will be arranged.
This is a traditional appointment in person with the physician in the office during regularly-staffed office ours. Office visits are appropriate for first time meetings with the physician, illnesses where an exam is necessary, or any other problems that cannot be handled over the phone or by office staff.
e-AccessMD will not bill your insurance, however invoices for service can be provided for submission to your insurer or to use with your health savings account.
This is a Department of Transportation exam and medical certification required for most licensed commercial truck driver’s in the state of Georgia. At e-AccessMD, not only can you get your DOT examination completed, but any medical problems that impact your certification status can be managed and usually corrected here if you are a member.
Many employers require annual “Wellness exams” or “Biometric screenings” to maintain a lower insurance premium. Many people desire an annual physical to be sure that no new or lurking medical problems have cropped up. At e-AccessMD we will tailor your annual exam to your specific needs. If all that is required is mostly just lab work and paperwork, we will complete this quickly and expeditiously. If more detailed health screenings are desired, e-AccessMD will simply not “shot-gun” test you with every screening imaginable. We will carefully discuss with you all screening options appropriate to your current age, health status, and worries. We follow an evidenced-based approach to healthcare and will take the time necessary to discuss all the pros and cons of every test and treatment. All too often today, little discussion occurs before screening tests are performed and can result in lengthy cycle of unnecessary worry, anxiety and further testing.
This is perhaps the single most important tenet of the e-AccessMD approach and philosophy of patient care. Every treatment, every diagnostic test we will perform or recommend must have evidence that it is effective and safe. In too many practices these days too many things are done that have not been rigorously tested or even thoroughly questioned. We will never simply order a test or treatment because the media or a manufacturer has made it fashionable to do so. While we will embrace technology and new ideas and discoveries, we will always apply a conservative approach to care that ensures that first and foremost we “do no harm.” By having more time to discuss all options with patients, we will sort through all the medical information available and together we will do what is best for you.
